Harmonic Conduit links two communities in Boston. Northeastern University and Lower Roxbury now connect through sound art in the Ruggles Station.
Odland and Auinger (O+A) tap into the soundscapes of each community, choosing recording locations that highlight economic disparity. The installation art then tunes the urban noise from each area to create a real-time harmony between the two.
It runs 24/7 as part of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum’s exhibition, Listen Hear: The Art of Sound. Funding comes from the Goethe Institut, Boston.
