For the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s death, Bruce Odland and Sam Auinger created a performance installation, StadTraum. It was a composition in four movements performed at the heart of Salzburg. An audience of 20,000 attended. Sound came from mountaintops, architecture, and from the heavens above. The acts progressed with shadowplay, actors, dance, and guitarist Adrian Belew playing from the top of the Bishop’s palace.

Act 3: Chaos Adrian Belew plays guitar from the top of the Bishop’s palace.
Sam Auinger positions lighter than air high frequency drivers to float over the Mozartplatz.
